This program uses KETTLEBELLS as the primary weight resistance.

vinyl kettlebell at KDT Academy

A kettlebell is a cast iron weight shaped like a ball with a handle and is shaped like an old-fashioned kettle without a spout. This exercise tool has been in use for about 150 years in Europe and has resurfaced of late in the U.S.A. spearheaded by former U.S.S.R. athletes. There are kettlebell sport competitions held in Eastern Europe and these weights are used to develop phenomenal grip strength, muscular endurance and stamina.

They are also a lot of fun and many exercises can be done with these simple tools. Out students use this conditioning tool to excel in other sports such as eco-adventure racing, tennis, golf, amateur and professional combat sports. Kettlebells have been used successfully to help rehabilitate and strengthen joints.

Interested in trying out a class? You don't need to call in advance (although it would be nice) just show up ready to workout. Bring a face towel and a bottle of water.

"I am really starting to enjoy the Kettlebell classes. Slowly getting the hang of it. However, I still have some work to do before i can say, " I can do kettlebells." I never realized how unfit I was until I joined KDT. Thanks for all the pain, Vince! I appreciate it. KDT is good for the masochist. Cheers! "
